Founded in 1912, SAS is China's largest international school, with more than 3000 students from 40 countries. We offer a pre-kindergarten through grade 12 program based on an American core curriculum. We are a private nonprofit, and nondenominational school set on two purpose-built campuses.

We support our program with state-of-the-art facilities that include gymnasiums, IT centers, science laboratories, music and art rooms, playing fields, outdoor tracks, two stunning Performing Arts Centers, blackbox theaters, and two aquatic centers. Our combined libraries contain the largest English-language collection of books in Asia. We are proud to teach Chinese to more students in more levels of proficiency than any other international school in the region.

We represent an international community of teachers, students, parents, counselors, psychologists, librarians, and more. Our teachers alone represent more than 27 countries, with nearly two thirds from North America. Nearly 60 percent hold master’s degrees or above.
